Challenge

Aswatna Studio came to us with the design for their public website already done, and asked us to build it — a fully functional frontend, faithful to the supplied designs. The other half had nothing behind it: the admin dashboard that runs the site was designed and built from scratch, UX/UI through to backend, database structure and API integration. Two systems that had to behave as one, so that everything on the public site is editable by the team without a developer.

Goals

Translate the supplied designs into a responsive production frontend, then design and build the management layer behind it — content, roster, events, news, bookings and messages — so every element visible on the public site can be added, edited or removed by the studio's own team.

Architecture UX/UI

Research

Target Users
Two audiences with opposite needs: visitors browsing the roster and enquiring about bookings, and the studio team managing everything behind it with no technical knowledge assumed.
Technical Requirements
Angular front end, Laravel API, MySQL, cloud media storage, token auth for the dashboard, and background queues so email and Instagram syncing never block a page load.
Key Insights
The dashboard is the product for the client. If publishing an artist with a dozen images, embeds and PDFs needs a developer, the platform has failed regardless of how the public site looks.

Translating Design Into Production

The visual direction for the public website was supplied by the client. Our responsibility was translating those designs into a responsive, production-ready frontend and connecting the experience to the platform's backend infrastructure.

Scaling the System

Every element on the public site is editable from the dashboard, so the studio adds artists, events and news without a developer. The same component set and tokens serve both systems, which keeps them from drifting as either grows.

Rights & Credits

All work shown here was produced for Aswatna Studio. The public website's visual direction was supplied by the client's designer; brand assets, imagery and trademarks remain the property of the client and appear here for portfolio purposes only.

Conclusion

Business Impact

The studio runs its own platform. Artists, events, news and page content are published by the team directly, booking enquiries and messages are handled in the dashboard rather than a shared inbox, and roles keep each person to what they should touch.

Reflection

Half of this project had a design and half did not. The public site was an exercise in fidelity to someone else's work; the dashboard was ours to define from a scope document — and it was the dashboard that decided whether the platform was actually usable.
